what's your TEST?

i (fictionally) knocked out 98% of our group in our HH group last thursday night. all but 2 - and 1 of them was married...
my test? the burbs. the movie. if you don't like it, yer out!

your test?
i had never thought about this before last evening, but i am thinking it might indeed be a useful tool to weed out people that just won't get you. your test piece has to be something that is so totally you, something that somehow defines you deep down. yes, for me it is "the burbs" - i'm full of profound thoughts, i.e., a thinker!
a couple others last night included: zoolander (i turned that crap off - soooo bad. i'm definitely not for you if that's your test) & seinfeld (pass! immensely lots pass!).
lemme guess yours:
becky - a cross between theory of a deadman & knocked up - this is a very special, diverse and ...interesting gal
jb - many things with ninjas. oh, and must love unicorns!
mindy - otis, the dog (this actually being her dog). & the man must not be a liar, nor a cheating kind of a SOB. this bar it seems is set quite low, despite that... ;) -or is there news?!?
aaron - i know one (which i share a passion with) is noises off. another is arrested development - good good stuff. but then there are some others i not likie, like family guy. ish!
caitlin - dylan. that and a bunch of movies i likely haven't heard of. i just cheated - annie hall.
andy - no movies. no tv. modest mouse. that's it.
reid - bad (and good! - J.Gaffigan) comedy & ... oh, i got it - his movie is the departed fo sho
jen - jon stewart jon stewart and jon stewart
how'd i do???

It is sad how low the bar has been set for me. But I'd say you're spot on. :-)

You're talking about Lebowskis. Hollywood is built around Lebowskis. These motion pictures are used to tell stories. The revolutionary, seminal Lebowski tells the story of The Dude. It's 118 minute long and focuses mainly on bowling and white russians. There are other Lebowskis - such as this 'Burbs you mention, but none have measured up to the seminal, original work.

(read: I'm trying to say that "The Big Lebowski" is such an important movie that we all should stop calling "movies" "movies" and start calling "movies" "Lebowskis".)

mindy: we'll perhaps try to change all that soon - over NYE or our outting on the 4th.
anonymous (aka matt?): have yet to see the flick, but i plan on nestling in soon to watch it 5 times over, in hopes that gets to that and-it-keeps-getting-funnier-every-single-time-i-see-it funny. (name That movie :)

Just because I hold a special place in my heart for the most majestic and beautiful of all mythical creatures doesn't mean I'll disassociate myself from people who don't share my passion.

That being said, spot on about the ninjas although lately I've been more adamant about my friends liking pirate/ninja hybrids.

I would have to say that you are right on track for me as well... However, if you don't like 'The Girls Next Door'... I think you'd (he'd)be out! What a test, I know.

C: i don't even know what exactly fellini is - can i still be your friend? :)
B: i don't even know what the girls next door is - can i still be your friend? :)

Yes, but of course you can still be my friend. The Girls Next Door are three blonde, bootilious bimbos that live with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion. The show is on Sundays... stupid, but entertaining!
