hooray hooray, the weekend's come!!!

so, the night will start something like this:

then we make good decisions, sush as:

we'll get to the bars and impliment the plan, williams being the perfect place to do so:

a few more beers and chatter with this special someone may lead to a deep ponder...

hmmmm
then, if that does or doesn't work,

THE END!

louix xiv - sunday's show

remember when i was so excited to see them when there were the first of 3 bands??? expecting them to be all dirty, dirty?

imagine the thrill i felt from a headliner show!

a bunch of us started out at the loring pasta bar ... 2 booths away from none-other-than theirs truely. it was barry's bday at midnight, so he was well lit, & we supposed we wouldn't be considered good friends if we weren't far behind, even if it was a sunday ... and easter.
men dancing like fools = entertaining.

soooo, as expected, their performance was awesome.
here's a fun link to the 'guilt by association' video, which has crazy quick flashes between scenes and this website shows the video shots separated out - pretty cool.

rock the garden - coming to a walker near you

OMG. just a couple moments ago the Walker Art Center & The Current, who are co-sponsoring this event, just announced the line up for the outdoor concert. 1. bon iver
2. cloud cult
are you kidding me?!?!? who's coming with me. you, you, you and you!
sat june 21st - on sale april 15th...

the drowsy chaperone - friday's entertainment

kirsten thought she'd lost the free tix, but at the last moment while not searching for them, they appeared!
also, i had dinner plans at pf chang's with my parents, but they cancelled the easter trip down here due to the weather.
point being, the stars aligned and i got to be escorted to broadway!!!
i certainly hope she doesn't get a boyfriend anytime soon. (sorry dear ;)
cause, i'm getting some great invites and as her first friend in minneapolis, and i'm taking advantage & hope to continue!!!

what do you think when you have plans to go to the theater (in this case, add that it's a frickin musical! ahhhhh!) ???
- snoozer! ... i hope i don't fall asleep
- please don't be long enough to require intermission
- must pray the person next to me isn't large enough to spill into my seat
- crossing my fingers that the person in front of me doesn't have huge hair

and except for the latterest, all prayers were answered!

the drowsy chaperone was marvelous, simple wonderful.

it was entertaining, funny, witty and charming. the plot was unique and interesting. the songs were cute, the voices great. the set was simple, yet elegant. the costumes perfect.

1 hour and 40 minutes Flew by :)

lovity time. and now that it is no longer in town, there's my raving, details omitted, review!

it takes all types ???

no. no, it does not.
waiting for the bus is an excellent place where you'll get the chance to hear people saying and thinking "it certainly takes all types in this world!" you can hear this just by looking at their faces - looks of shock, expressions of disgust, feelings of concern, questions in their eyes.
one morning a couple weeks ago i saw This (minus the bat, thank gawd):

really? then it talked. he wanted to engage in dialog, wondering if i'd seen the #17 go by. well, buddy i'd certainly considered running the other way as soon as i saw you, with the assumption that this situation cannot be safe (no way!), because, obviously, he either has a weapon of sorts & there's a plan to kill me OR he really wants to show me something he has in his pants. whatever the situation, i'm certain it was not an appropriate time for conversation.

what was he thinking? i'm just gonna wander into the world looking super creepy just to see the reactions of the street's normals - it'll be way funny? ...playing it cool, i gave him nothing to report.

so back to my original statement ... it does not "take all types." it is often said, but i disagree. think about it. i coulda done without dude that morning. the world would get on just fine without him.

the world would turn without this fool (perfect example of why we don't take candy from strangers!):

the sun will rise without this ... person:
stars will shine should this similar gent w/ his questionable (yet nicely contemplative) character go away:this kiddo, even if just trying to make a buck, is gross. i could have done without seeing him and his talent:
no harm done, but, again, not necessary:

this fella could use some grooming:
and for sure THIS GUY.

some of them may make the world more interesting, but it ... don't. take. all. types.

just sayin.

echo! come here, boy!

ok, i don't know what's up with youtube, but it's not putting this video up for me like it keeps telling me it will. it says "this video will appear on your blog shortly," and only if they mean shortly, next week, it's not working. it's a MUST see, though, so do it! and what i wanted to say with my youtube video is this:

oh my gosh. how cute is this dog?!? a BUNCH, that’s how much. i will take you home and cuddle you, echo!
a plug for adoption, a note for ya’ll: i will think less of you should you take in a pet from a store or breeder. really.
someday, someday i inevitably will be the proud parent of a zoo full of furrie, fleatherie & scalie critters. i do look forward to it!!!

political miracle!!!

that is ... that I am writing about it at all!
i don't get into politics much. it's boring. it's annoying.
BUT, yesterday morning on the today show they were talking about hillary's successes in ohio, texas and ... somewhere else (see? me not paying much attention). the interviewers were asking absurd questions. two of which i must mention right here, right now.
-prefacing my below opinion, i'll just say that i'm so on the fence between the 'bama N hill. no one has said it better than janine, yesterday on her myspace: i "love[s] Clinton and Obama equally--but [she's] really happy for Hillary right now because now she gets to wear her "Bitches get stuff done" t-shirt with pride." har har.

now, we all know how i feel about the today show, right? if not, lemme just say - it Sucks! they don't report news, they repeat the same interview questions over and over when they don't get the answer America (they) want, and most of their topics are soooo uninteresting.

Topic #1 - in order to be the democratic nominee, clinton will likely need some super delegate votes, since she is lagging quite a bit behind Obama on the number of his already acquired delegate votes. so ... by obtaining, through influence or encouragement or talent, SD votes would clinton somehow be "cheating" the system?
no no no!
Topic #2 - they questioned Obama on the fact that he didn't win ohio ... blah blah blah ... how does he expect to win a state in a presidential election that he lost 2 days ago?!?!
let me know if i'm way off base, but i'm thinking that no matter who wins the democratic race to become the presidential candidate those that voted for the other aren't sooooo stuck on their candidate that they will either a.) switch-a-roo & go republican, b.) move to canada, nor c.) contemplate either suicides or assassinations. i think the likely outcome, for the most part, will be to vote for the democratic presidential candidate. just the other one. we (us democrats :) score the same in that state either way. for the most part. no???

3.05.2008

the hives - first ave

adjectives to describe, include: conceited, arrogant, loud, spastic, over-energized, and crazy.
i LOVED it! this will for sure be the last time they'll play in such a small venue, so thankfully sammer got caitlin and i in! gracias, sir :)

simple background - they don't think they need any other theatrics. they don't.

they start with matching black and white suits. it's their thing. it works for them. and me. being it was nearly 1000 degrees in there, though, they've stipped down some.

example of how Pelle's feet were so much more often not on the floor than they were. he climbed out over the speakers entering the stage for the encore. lunatic. in a good way!

they are the only band on the planet whose myspace page only allows listeners a taste of each song, as they fade out after 60 seconds er so. punks!
here's the tick tick boom video for ya, too.

rendition - das movie

so B and i are chugging along in the movie, liking it rather much. toward the end you know things are winding down, and we're definitely excited to find out how this thing is gonna end.
when all of a sudden you're back at the beginning!

wait ... what?
for some reason the producers, directors, whoever decide to ruin a perfectly good plot. an understandable and chronological story. don't get me wrong, i like twists, turns and surprises. when they make sense.

so, there's the beginning, which is further developed at the end, but the end can't happen without the middle, but the middle can't happen without the beginning, which is changed in the end, so the middle's possibility of happening goes away.

...like i said - nonsense. maybe imbd, er Someone can explain?!?!? not very many answers out there, i tell you. for the most part i agree with Peter Rainer, oddly enough since he's from the Christian Science Monitor. huh. he says:
About two-thirds of the way through, Rendition takes a bad turn and sells out most of what made it worth watching in the first place. Witherspoon is given little to do except look weepy, Freeman's change of heart is Q.E.D., and the radical Islamist subplot overwhelms the action, which becomes so confusingly structured that I thought the projectionist had misplaced a reel.
thumbs down, i'm thinking.

ice's fault and i do mind

falling down can be fun. funny.
mostly, though, it's not.
this past week has brought me two solid diggers.
matt! weren't we just talking about this at HH two weeks ago?!?!? can you say jinx? yes he can.

i was ice fishing near st peter 2 saturdays ago with andy, brian and lora. we didn't have an ice house, so, without red carpet laid out nicely, the only thing between my feets and a frozen lake was nothing. not remembering that, lora was the first to biff. hard.

after switching lakes and switching empty cocktails
out for full ones several times, I forgot that i was parading around on ice.
ice, being slick, is slippery. after 1 quick attempt to regain balance, down i went. the bruise on the left hip is still not done spreading in width and morphing into an interesting shade of dark dark dark puke green. the hole in my right hand has scabbed nicely, however!

wednesday i met up with joe to reminisce about the joys (loathes) of law school. after a delicious dinner, we figured a night cap at a different establishment seemed appropriate. we parked the vehicle near the curb, street side. i thought it best to hop the snowbank onto the clear, safe sidewalk on the other side of this slippery jaded mound. off i took .... before i knew i was even falling at all, all wind was out of my lungs and my thoughts went straight to (after a quick assessment of whether or not paralysis had suddenly set in) the fact that i have no health insurance, and this situation likely would benefit from ownership over it. a martini helped. 2 days of living through it and sucking it up (along with a daily doses of 2200mg ibuprofen) helped. my whining did not, but, yet, i did it.

40 degrees last weekend!!! yippers :)

mello the yellow

so, caitlin comes over one saturday before we hit the town for the evening. i pour some wine and settle in on my bed, which is just off the bathroom where C's in front of the mirror getting pretty, to gabbity. this lasts for some time, then it's my turn to flatten my poofy hair. i wander into the bathroom and notice the bowl has not been flushed since it was last, uh, used.
anyway, good thing this wasn't a neighbor, a first date or the pope seeing the dirtied bowl. just caitlin. no biggie. words were exchanged as:

me: opps - i forgettied to flush

caitlin: oh, i just thought it was mellowing

me: what?

caitlin: -thought it was mellowing

me: What?

caitlin: you know, yellow let it mellow - brown flush it down

me: (soft) chuckle, (growing) giggle, (crescendo-ing) ha Ha!

how could i have let that happen, you ask? well, odds are i was on the phone & didn't want to flush, having you hear. that's right, i'm a busy girl. i do lots of things on the go & i do lots of things while i'm going ;)

odds are, i've peed in front of you, with you, well ... sort of.

2.08.2008

some of my many, many (many!) talents include:

i can do so many things. it's really, truly amazing. are they talents? superpowers? maybe miracles, but whatever...
just read!

1. i read books while i wander the skyways, when getting to and fro work. i really zoom when i walk, eyes focused on pages or not. slow pokes beware, i'm barging through! there has never been an accident because of my great sense of self, dynamite peripheral subconscious peepin and probably everyone else being extra cautious thinking i'm a crazed hazard. you'd be full of wonderment watching!

2. i only wash my hair once a week! it just doesn't need it - there's no greaseyness, no oily slickstered style about it and no flakey mess. in fact, it's at my favorite, ease-of-styling-wise, at about day 5. but, after 7 days i figure ... it just must be time. now gentleman, this may not seem like a jealousy enraging feat to yous, but to the other ladies of the world, naw na now nah na ha! however, when i do decide it's time (often early in the week), it is a small endeavor i must commit to, which takes mucho time deal with. so, if you call on tuesday and get an "i'm busy. i'm washing my hair," take it as the truth - no time for much else that day.

3. i park. i park well. it's almost magical how as i near and pull up to my destination, someone will make way for me. i'm at about 99% for getting the parking spot that even a rockstar'd be jealous of. if you're in need of this service, i'm selling.

4. i don't lose things (except for winter outer ware accessories - i always lose those). my level of responsibility can be measured well and accurately with one example, one which every female with pierced ears are thrown aback by, and it is also one which mostly anyone can at least appreciate. it is: i still hold possession of the earrings i had my ears pierced with in second grade ... fronts and backs. near miracle, no? naw. i'm just that good.

5. i can drink. i can down a liter of water in one swift moment! but, as impressive as that is, we all know that's not what i mean ;) i can cocktail impressively in the following ways... a. i am pretty sure these words do not need to be in my vocabulary - rally, buck-up, oh-come-on; b. i'm reliable, you know it and you take advantage of it (not that i mind) - i don't think i've ever used the excuse "i'm too tired" or "i have to get up early" nor "i'm sick as hell;" c. and the one you've all been waiting for ... i'll drink you under the table, or at least 90% of you - my skills have been proven to many, but for those of you underexposed to them, i invite you to join in a gathering soon.

6. i get what i want. musically only, sadly. i did end up going to the mgmt show, yah? -was it luck? was it skill? was it sexual prowess? regardless....that update is under the mgmt post - a dosie, fo sho. another instance: back last fall snow patrol played at northrup along with ok go & the silver sun pickups - the show was sold out and i wanted in. i turned to my favorite source, craigslist.org & success was found in an ad that went something like this: me and my girlfriend have an extra tix for the show ... we're just giving it away to the person with the most creative response. my email contain some suggestive language and ideas of lacking sobriety and humor, of course, so I WINNED!

7. the superpower of freezing people with my eyes, well, lemme temper that with... that's what matt suspects. -possibly one icy glance and they be stuck- quite the gift if i can get it to work.

2.07.2008

shoulda known i'd be 'in' for tonight's entertainment - mgmt @ 7th st entry

well, i finally landed my spot in the venue - i got tixs for tonight's mgmt performance. the stinker of a show was set up to be played in the smallest venue in the city, outside of your basement.
this is possibly the worst seat in the house (not quite as bad as target's worst, in my opinion):
it also has been shown to be quite the attraction, selling out weeks ago. i begged connections to find better connections, emailed the current who is sponsoring it & asked the production managers at first ave/entry - nothing came of that.
apparently, although not a great place to find a hot-sexy-date, craigslist is the perfect spot to find a music "partner."
OR potentially you can do both at once (according to this real ad posted this morning)!!! "Who do it have to sleep with for MGMT tickets? - $20" i not only paid face value for 2 tixs from tim, i'm also on the guest list. wait... do i have to put out now!?!? oh, well :) how do i do it? await my next post - i'll tell you...
their website
even better is the myspace page!

dirty dirty! just the way i like it (tonight's entertainment - some of it)

i often don't care if i make it to the opener, but this time be different. i do plan on watching from afar, however. maybe with a chaperone? cause if they catch ahold of me - it's over. scary singer much?
the song is so hot dirty, though! racey. spicy. whoa - is it warm in here?
louis xiv they are. finding out true love is blind is their game.
fineline. do it.

yeah - it's Finally happened ... i'm in love!!!

so, well, maybe the feeling's not mutual, but i'll work on that. details. the vid shant win even one award, but the song is great Great. if you want to join the fan club with me, come along - i'm on my way!
ch ch check out his music on myspace

empty messages: part, the two

thanks for thinking of me! (again)
BUT, if there wasn't a question or statement worth comment offered up in your text to me, you'll likely get a response containing a lot of nothing. i've gotten a few of them lately, and i'm just like, even if i wanted to, how do i respond to that? but since i'm like, i don't want to respond to that, i don't. something bland to do with how cold they are OR there's no bread in the house OR they rented a bad movie. sooooo? and??? boring!

another favorite? the "happy holidays!" text. while i appreciate it and thank you for thinking of me on such a special day, when you get 32 of them in one afternoon it starts to become quite overwhelming to think of returning em all. so i don't, i won't. if you feel the need to continue to send these sorts of messages, just know this ... i thank you tons & i love you lots & Ditto (whatever the greeting)!!!

i'm just the sort that likes information to be shared in these communications, whether it be just a humorous bit OR waaay vital news/direction/gossip. if you think they're good, keep em coming!

1.25.2008

no. I'M dangerous.

there a few things that i do that might freak you all out. no, not in a creepy way, well, maybe there are some things that would freak you out in a creepy way, but we're not going that direction today. -future blog topic, noted. anyway, these actions i take will freak you out in a how-does-she-even-dare-do-that-crazy-shit??? kinda way. i know i'm not the only one with these sorta unknown, not quite secret shockers - jb has announced his wild side on not one, but two occasions. watch out - he's a crazy mother F-er!!!

  • i wear my (supposed to be) weekly disposable contacts for waaaaaaay longer. i have yet to feel any sort of repercussion, disease or crusties, so i will continue.

  • i've been driving with a nail in my tire for many, many months now. i go like 80. with passengers. without all the possible percents of attention. jammin. you've been warned.

  • i take a thinning sheers to my own hair. with no training on the subject matter.

  • sometimes when i know i'm dangerously close to running out of the greatly necessary home supply of toilet tissue, i steal a roll from the lady's potty at work on my way out. likely near grand-theft-paper by now - totally a legal term.

  • i feed my cat Roundy's brand cat food! ya know, that generic stuff from rainbow that's like 4% the price of anything that's probably the bare minimum necessary for proper bone growth and nutrient absorption and overall health. i know what you're thinking ... "ahhhhhhh! you serious about that or that some lunatic 'joke' that's not near funny. i'm sooo calling the human society! F that, i'm calling the cops! maybe the mob should hear about this, you monster! you deserve every suffering you get!!!" But, before you do that, just know - damn her poo don't stink & she's uber soft, so...

  • i ride the bus

  • i ride the #18 bus

  • i waiting for the bus in negative degrees with caitlin 2 nights ago. granted, this dangerous act's boldness was tempered by the super-power, alcohol. wasn't so cold.

  • i bought, and USED! the epilady. i knew it was a near certain death adventure, but i forged the experience like i was brave. oh. my. gawd. that hurt. mistake, but definitely made me stronger ... and even more dangerous.

keep your guard up. i'm out there.

1.24.2008

why blog? well, hell ... why not!?!

i was asked recently "How do you find blog writing? Fulfilling? No stalker fears?"

and i say:

well, i haven't posted my addy and there is nothing on there all too personal. i bet some face recognition software would bring up my criminal records as a registered sex offender, so my zip will narrow any stalkers field of range for finding me, but at the same time it will hopefully dissuade them from further pursuit.
gratifying? it can be, but i just mostly find it to be kinda fun. :P

fun? -cause i entertain my peeps some and vent a little and share funny stuff that should be seen by the world, and i'm making a sort of journal i can look back at later and laugh at myself.

i don't expect to be a blog star with 72 comments under each post by any means, but i think once in a while i entertain my friends, er fans. i know this cause i'm entertained by theirs. thanks kids!

PS: i know i haven't posted in forever (over a frickin week!), but i've got like 7 drafts on good shit sure to be loved. build anticipation & the want for the climax, ya know. hold please...

1.14.2008

my fortune - things are looking up!

and i quote: your server thinks you're so beautiful, you should be stuffed and mounted (although not necessarily in that order). end quote.
giggle.
so most fortunes found in the cookies are lame lame lame (look right - lame, right? yes!).
something about happiness, security, love, intuition, rainbows, success, talents, journeys and humility. that's all well and good, but now would somebody make me laugh for F's sake???
oh chino, you're too good to me!
that's where the "fortune" above was received and opened.
*you'd like to hear another story? ok. chino is quite dimly lit and my mommie opened a cookie back a couple years to find out that "this light suits you best." ha! good for a solid chuckle.
*another? here's a doosie: so i'd been drinking some (read: a lot) and by the end of the meal i thought it a grand idea to take the colorful chop sticks that had been my good friends throughout the evening home with me. i began wrapping them and but what, out of the corner of my eye, do i see glimmering at me? pretty silver serving utensils! i thought - those will go great in my kitchen, right beside by newly acquired chop sticks. then the bill & fortune cookies & i wouldn't forget the wonderful warm wet towels land on the table. we all reached for our futures, then ... i had to worry i was caught on tape, cause it says something to the effect of: are those chop sticks in your pocket? uh oh!

12.26.2007

what's your TEST?

i (fictionally) knocked out 98% of our group in our HH group last thursday night. all but 2 - and 1 of them was married...
my test? the burbs. the movie. if you don't like it, yer out!

your test?
i had never thought about this before last evening, but i am thinking it might indeed be a useful tool to weed out people that just won't get you. your test piece has to be something that is so totally you, something that somehow defines you deep down. yes, for me it is "the burbs" - i'm full of profound thoughts, i.e., a thinker!
a couple others last night included: zoolander (i turned that crap off - soooo bad. i'm definitely not for you if that's your test) & seinfeld (pass! immensely lots pass!).
lemme guess yours:
becky - a cross between theory of a deadman & knocked up - this is a very special, diverse and ...interesting gal
jb - many things with ninjas. oh, and must love unicorns!
mindy - otis, the dog (this actually being her dog). & the man must not be a liar, nor a cheating kind of a SOB. this bar it seems is set quite low, despite that... ;) -or is there news?!?
aaron - i know one (which i share a passion with) is noises off. another is arrested development - good good stuff. but then there are some others i not likie, like family guy. ish!
caitlin - dylan. that and a bunch of movies i likely haven't heard of. i just cheated - annie hall.
andy - no movies. no tv. modest mouse. that's it.
reid - bad (and good! - J.Gaffigan) comedy & ... oh, i got it - his movie is the departed fo sho
jen - jon stewart jon stewart and jon stewart
how'd i do???

10 all time favorite bands (plus 1) ... of all time

i've been put to (another) music challenge.
i'd get sick ot it, but i love/hate it, so i don't.

a conversation i was CC'd on:
*On 12/21/07, Abney, Barb babney@mpr.org wrote: An Easter Island head, huh? Nice, I dig it! So, throw me some suggestions.. name your top 10 bands.. babs.
*then Carl answered:
Okay Babs, here you go.
Bobbi is disappointed because she argues that this should have taken all day. Very disappointed. Seems boring to me. Best albums would take all day for sure.
But my all time list would be:
LIfter Puller (and their progeny)
Uncle Tupelo
Yo La Tengo
Tom Waits
Bettie Seveert
Archers of Loaf (really only their first album)
Pixies (even though their reunion tour was dumb)
Elvis Costello
Prince of course (especially b/c of Dirty Mind... what a powerhouse in my life)
Steve Earle
*then i chimed:
yeah. i'll get back to you both on this one. next week sometime. after an appropriate amount of
thought has been grunted out. yep - more than 7 minutes. ;)
*back to barb:
Well, I managed to squeeze in some Yo La Tengo for you today, Carl. I've pulled out some Prince for Xmas Eve, as well (dunno whether you'll be near a radio, though.) get me your list, Bobbi and I'll have something on the air for you either Wednesday or Thursday! Have a great weekend, folks!
Barb

*to THAT i wonder - all time fav? most influential to me? influential to the music world in general? one hit wonders can't be included, right? next i decide - that's painfully up to me. then i Happily answer (& in no particular order):
- prince
- underworld
- modest mouse
- dmb
- alanis morissette
- collective soul
- doves
- michael jackson
- van morrison OR bob dylan
- gomez
- kings of leon

barb happens to be a dj for the current 9am to noon every weekday. she's a hoot. tell her what YOU think (email above)!

K. that's gross & sad.

yes, folks, i am a vegetarian. why? cause the alternative is not nice. that's the most concise and perfect way i know how to describe my feelings on the matter - in a manner that avoids me sounding like i'm lecturing or judging. and ...well, so i don't have to think about the below while i'm eating. here, too, i am not pushing any agenda, just throwing out a news bit.
aint they so cute!

this information is not for the light stomached individual. you've been warned.
so, there are several workers at the "quality pork processing" company that have been seen at the Mayo clinic & then diagnosed with neurological illnesses. fun fun.
the thought is that their contact with neural "material" set up an immune response causing a type of neuritis. the peripheral nervous system inflames and affects many voluntary and involuntary movements, like picking up a pencil or dilating pupils. no. big. deal.
also, 5 of the 11 workers who have been tested show signs of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy - a disease that weakens muscles and causes numbness. and, of course, it's too early to say whether these patients will recover. perfect.

oh my gosh! how'd this ever happen? well, workers use compressed air hoses inserted into the skull cavity to "pulverize" the brain to push it out the snout or the base of the skull. not nice.
these hoses splattered brain tissue & created a mist of ... yeah.
workers don't wear face masks therefore they likely have inhaled the ... um, yeah.

i realize (most) of you aren't often around this particular illness causing substance, but i'm sure if this is as sanitary and safe they keep this area, your meat's processing area is not much better.
something to think about.
that little guy to the right deserves better. sooooo cute.

anne courie JUMPS! (yesterday)

no wonder ya'll ain't taken seriously. seriously, THIS is news to you? sure it's for charity, but it was so highly advertised, then mentioned every 4 minutes for 2 hours before she took her leap. lame. tom hanks was on the show and suggested he'd double the amount she'd raised if she just "go right into the water" - ha! perhaps if they didn't travel to england with an entire camera crew they would've had enough to straight up donate the $10K raised. yep, she only raised 10K with this stunt. her deep quote: “I recommend it, actually. Hey, guys, this is actually fun. I feel all the blood in my body in my brain. I feel like a bird.”

they also had someone from Time magazine on to discuss the 2007 yet-to-be-announced, VOTE-HERE, person of the year. when Meredith asked if she was a contender, the guest coldly, basically, said 'what have you ever done?,' but he specifically said 'uh ... no' while throwing her a quizzical squinty glance. no wonder you ain't up for it - you're so annoying.

so THAT's where all the pretty people are!

who knew? apparently they've been hiding HERE. and fyi, they don't wear jeans. none of them do. lesson learned.
nor do they carry any, ANY extra weight. you must be concave to join the festivities. i kept my coat on.

what was funniest to me about it is that one gentleman we were with, who is from Naples Fl, thought that this was normal for clubs around here. ummmm. no.

my friend toni invited me to this event. she knew basically everyone, the little social butterfly that she is. there was yummy food (and plenty of it (remember: concave?)) & dj-ed music & dancing & rich people with fancy clothes with fancy cars with fancy jewels, scantily clad. i fit right in. next event, i'll let ya'll know (pending board approval of prettiness) if you're, too, "in." good luck!!!

despite how it seems i have received that evening, i did really enjoy it. there were many nice people there whom i hope to run into again. and i felt like i was on vaca. definately a south beach vibe. fun!
